I do not like the tone of her voice, however, being that she is a classically trained singer, she is exceptional! Similarly to Pat Benatar, classically trained and technically speaking, flawless. They are plenty of artists that are technically and scientifically good that I don’t like, but that doesn’t take away from their musical talent. And an artist being good, doesn’t mean you have to like them. Liking an artist, doesn’t mean they’re good. There’s plenty of older artists I like: Queen, Elton John, Steve Nicks/Fleetwood Mac, Christina Aguilera, David Bowie, etc. But it takes knowledge and practice and skill to make good music. Anyone can slap sounds together and call it music and it may be enjoyable to listen to, I may even like it. Music is both an art form and a science and it takes skill and technique in order for it to be good. I’ve taught music for the last 8 years and been a vocal coach for the last 5. I’ve taken voice and music lessons since I was 5 years old. I have a BA in both musical theory, and vocal performance from UNT. Imo, That goes into the acceptable category of separating the art from the artist. In what world is raping children the same as cultural appropriation? Cultural appropriation is not a crime against humanity raping children is. so if you’re finding it difficult you might need to do some self reflection. It’s really not that hard to not support terrible people to anyone with any type of moral, conscience, ethic code, etc. Where do you draw the line? Raping children is clearly okay with you so where’s your line? I draw the line at not supporting pedophiles, rapists, domestic abusers. If you watch a Weinstein film, raping women is okay to you. But if you listen to Beatles, beating your partner clearly is okay to you. But you don’t draw the line at RAPING children…?
