![]() ![]() ![]() The 'Ayeere Holi' song, again, just get manages to make it as far as the picturisation is concerned. The lenghty and often dragging conventional shots, like the one in 'Manassin.' where the single frame covers aged & young hero and his ex-love, looks bit old-fashioned. But one area Lohi seems to have overlooked is the picturisation of the songs. Ravindran's musical scores lends magical touch to few songs like Dheenadhayalo Rama.Camera did what exactly the story demanded. The movie ends with the note that he could show the arayannagal to his kids at his home itself.Īlong with Mammooty, Oduvil Unnikrishnan, Siddique,Kaviyoor ponnamma and the new face Lakshmi Gopalaswamy get good marks for their performance. The story begins in Bhilai where Ravi tells his daughters that he will show them swans, once they are back at his native place, a place where people know only to love.Mammooty plays the lead role of Ravi who returns to his tharavaadu after a long time, where he was labelled as a Mudiyanaaya Puthran. But his dream and real facts stood very much apart. His elder brother and almost all his siblings tries to gang up against him, making the place which he called home, nothing short of hell. But he is determined to bring back the olden days.He could do justice to that to an extent. But in the end he decided to return to Bhilai, but this time taking his mother along. If being different and starting a trend alone was the criteria for judging any art form, we wouldn't have rated even M.T.Vasudevan Nair as a literary legend( One could always find the nostalgia and two women syndrome in almost all his works). We have already seen movies in the same base-line with the son returning to his tharavaadu after a long time and a few flashbacks thrown in to aid the script writer. And that is the main reason why I rate this movie as a good one. But what matters most is the sincerity and dedication in the story telling. A good and novel story is indeed the keystone of a successful movie. That could be the reason why LohithaDas gave this title to the story of a dream house where love alone should rule. Swans are messengers of love according to Hindu mythology. Cast: Mammootty, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, Siddique, Jomol ![]()
